The Honors College gives UA students a small community feel within the large university setting. Honors College students have the opportunity to be a part of honors-based innovative classes with a small number of students, conduct undergraduate research, participate in civic engagement, and travel on international experiences.

How to Join

If you want to join the Honors College later in your college experience, or if you transferred into the university, you can apply with a minimum of a 3.3 GPA and 12 credit hours on campus.

“Being in the Honors College had a big impact on my freshman experience. From getting involved in specific activities to meeting some of my closest friends through Honors Programs like Blount Scholars, it has provided a way for me to meet new people and to make my freshman year uniquely mine. The Honors College makes this big university feel small, with tightly-knit groups for class projects and leadership opportunities at every level. Additionally, the full time advisors just for the Honors College are huge resources in finding internships, resume building, and just getting involved in things that appeal to you.
