As part the immersive experience of becoming a student at The University of Alabama, all first-year students are expected to take part in Yea, Alabama! Starting with a kick-off on the Quad and ending with a trip inside Bryant-Denny Stadium, this is an event no student wants to miss! Check out the details below and mark your calendar now.

The Details

Join all first-year students on August 20-21, 2018, for Yea, Alabama!  This program symbolizes your entrance into the social and academic community at UA, starting with the Kick-Off Event and ending with New Student Convocation and Script A at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Just as commencement ceremonies serve as a ritual marking the completion of study, new student convocation is a ritual to signal the beginning of your college career. Participation is expected for all first-year students and registration for Yea, Alabama! will take place after you move into your residence hall.

Yea, Alabama! Pre-Party and Registration Pick-Up

Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Location: Ferguson Student Center

August 21, 2018

Large Group Session 

Time: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Location: Various Academic Buildings (Location assigned during Registration)

Small Group Session 

Time: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Location: Various Academic Buildings (Location assigned during Registration)

Wear your name tag and lanyard you received at registration!

College Open House

Time: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Various Academic Buildings (Location assigned during Registration)

Visit with Faculty and Staff Members from your academic college!

Fun on the Quad

Time: 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Location: The Quad

Convocation and Script A

Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: Bryant-Denny Stadium

Yea, Alabama! culminates with your formal introduction into UA’s academic community with Convocation, a pep rally featuring UA coaches and cheerleaders, and a freshman class picture taken on the field at Bryant-Denny!

Wear your name tag and lanyard as well as your wristband received during Small Group!
